Database Administrator

Duties:Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications. Install and configure database management software, translate database design and diagnose database performance issues.  Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.  Perform database server upgrades and determine standards for server configuration.  Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.  Collaborate on the installation of new releases, upgrades, patches and test environments andoversee the deployment of enterprise client software.  Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database.  Review new features and other proposed changes related to database systems and provide advice on issues relevant to reporting, programming, performance, upgrades, patches and client use of the system.Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems such as the installation of new databases.  Work closely with other members of the enterprise systems team in the creation and modification of SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to promote efficient use of organizational data.  Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.  Utilize development tools such as UNIX, HP 9000, and Linux Environment.  Oracle 11G Certified Professional Sun Solaris Certified Systems Administration for Solaris Part1 or Part 2.  May be required to relocate residence upon completion of each long-term project.  No telecommuting.Requirements:Master's degree in Computer Science plus 3 years of experience (Computer Science major may be satisfied through 2 additional years of relevant experience) in any occupation providing the required skills and abilities.Job Site: Fairless Hills, PA.
